During a weekend in August, over 50 participants gathered at the National Baha’i Centre from 11 focus clusters in the Eastern Region to learn about holding Bahá’í Children’s Classes.
The atmosphere was one of love and collaboration. During the breaks, children’s
class songs from Grade 1 were sung so that everyone learned new melodies.
The group was very clear about the vision of a children’s class – to strengthen
the imperative of a life-long educational process. Those present agreed that
future community leaders, parents, and active citizens would pass through these
classes, so teachers should be prepared for changing our world for the better.
The weekend included feedback from a similar seminar in Zambia, game-playing
and highlighting the value of getting children to play, a review of all classes in the
grades of Book 3, practical insights regarding discipline, and story-telling as an
excellent way to impart information.
